Delete your account

You can delete your account and its data in any Chaosryn Studios game at any time, from inside the game or with the form on this page. This covers: Word Crumbs.

Fastest way

Delete it in the app

  1. Open Word Crumbs.
  2. Tap Profile.
  3. Tap Account.
  4. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account and progress are deleted within 30 days. Uninstalling the app on its own does not delete your account.

Have a subscription? Deleting your account doesn’t cancel it. Cancel Premium in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions first, so you aren’t charged again.

Request deletion on the web

Fill this in and we’ll delete the account for you. Requests go to privacy@chaosrynstudios.com, and you can also email us there directly.

What happens to your data

Deleted within 30 days

  • Your player account and player ID
  • Game progress: levels, coins, hints, XP, streaks and badges
  • Daily, Weekly and season leaderboard entries
  • Your display name
  • Links to your Google or Apple sign-in
  • Your age band and privacy settings
  • Support messages linked to your player ID, unless we still need them to finish your request

Kept only where we must

Purchase records Up to 7 years
Tax and accounting law requires us to keep records of transactions. They contain the order ID, product, date and amount, not your game progress.
Encrypted backups Up to 35 days
Backups are overwritten on a schedule. Deleted data is not restored from them except to recover from a disaster, and it is deleted again if that happens.
Server logs Up to 30 days
Short-lived logs (such as IP address and request time) that help us keep the service secure.
A record of the deletion request Up to 24 months
So we can show we handled it. It holds the request date and a one-way scrambled form of the player ID, not your game data.

What happens next

  1. We confirm it’s you. Because you don’t need an email address to play, we may ask for a detail only the player would know, such as their display name or current level, before we delete anything.
  2. We delete the account. Your progress and leaderboard entries are removed, and your Google or Apple sign-in is unlinked.
  3. We let you know. We email you when deletion is complete, within 30 days of confirming the request.

Deletion can’t be undone. Coins, hints and other items in the account are lost, and purchases can’t be moved to another account. Purchase history stays with Apple or Google under their own policies.
